Our Story

For 20 years, the Executive Education Finance team at the University of Zurich has been offering high-quality continuing education programs in the field of banking and finance, which, due to its high flexibility, particularly meets the needs of working professionals.
The program originated from the eCorporate Finance (eCF) project initiated in 2000 under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Ruedi Volkart, later honored with the prestigious MEDIDA PRIX in 2006. This project evolved into a comprehensive corporate finance program, the Certificate of Advanced Studies (CAS) in Corporate Finance.
In 2010, under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Markus Leippold, our Executive Education in Finance made the transition to a Master of Advanced Studies (MAS) in Finance. Dr. Benjamin Wilding, currently the Managing Director, along with Prof. Dr. Beat Affolter, took over leadership in 2011 and faced the challenge of establishing the blended learning concept within UZH. Their efforts have significantly contributed to making digital learning a central aspect of our programs today, which proved especially beneficial during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Parallel to this, in 2010, the first sustainable finance course was introduced. Under the leadership of Dr. Annette Krauss and Prof. Dr. Julia Meyer, a CAS in Sustainable Finance was first offered in 2016. Leveraging years of experience and increasing demand, UZH has led the market by offering a Diploma of Advanced Studies (DAS) and an MAS in Sustainable Finance since 2021.
Currently, participants in both the MAS in Finance and MAS in Sustainable Finance can select from approximately 50 different courses, providing them with considerable flexibility in their choice of topics.
Since August 2021, these programs have been integrated into the broader Executive Education offerings at the Faculty of Business and Economics at the University of Zurich.
